Wds Images - Why All Windows 2008 ?

I have learned about WDS role today, one thing I do not understand are the images.
Why the only images available are windows 2008? why not xp nor vistas or win7?

Is windows 2008 included inside win7, Vista and XP?

Where have you read this? You can of course deploy other images...
